Add experience to your resume by doing volunteer work.
Recent grads are
often frustrated because they can’t get an good job without
experience but they can’t get good experience unless they
get a good job. Volunteering is a helpful solution.
You have to
do work your way up before you can start making a huge salary.
You have to pay your dues. You’re not going to be hired for
a six figure salary job just because you just completed a
certification. You need some experience too.
Get a list of non-profit agencies and apply your skills by volunteering to help them. This approach will help you because it gives you an opportunity to get your hands dirty in the “real world,” by applying what you’ve learned in the classroom. Also, you’ll be able to confidently tell an interviewer, “Yes, I have done that before.”
As an added
benefit, You’ll feel good about yourself because you will be
making a real difference and helping others.
Don't forget to ask for referrals! If you do a good job the
charity might recommend you to others they know. The word will
get out and you will network your way into a paying job
somewhere.
